Modelling Assignment Tips After securing that first modelling assignment the reality inevitably sets in that you are going to be in front of a professional camera for the first time.   1. Get as much information as you can about the company you will be representing. It is useful to have an idea of what is expected of you on your assignment. Understanding the product is just as important as looking the part to get into the correct mindset.
  2. Make sure you have all necessary information about the assignment including contact details.
  3. Ensure that you know what is expected of you with regards to attire, where to park, what time you start and finish etc.
  4. Make sure that you know the contact name of your client on site and who to report to on arrival.
  5. Never be late – aim to arrive at least 15 minutes early. This can be achieved by planning your route and method of transport in advance.
  6. Be polite and personable but keep chat to a minimum – remember they are paying you to model!
  7. Listen carefully to instructions and ask if you’re not sure what you should be doing. Remain calm even if the pressure and tension rise.
